No. The Cable4Net service is for residential, casual use only and does not support or allow servers of any kind from the home/office.

8. I am getting Wrong Protocol Error.

It indicates your connectivity is down with your ISP. To solve this error check your network cable whether it is properly plugged in the network card. If yes then run the following command on DOS prompt "ping 10.0.0.1". If you get "Request Timed Out" then there is problem in connectivity and if you get Reply then there is some other problem.

* Check The following things before calling customer care :

  - Check Ethernet card link LED.
  - Check TCP/IP settings and verify that they match the settings provided by your ISP.

10. I can login but am unable to browse ?

Check whether you have proxy settings in your browser ? If yes then remove it. Check whether you have installed certain software which redirect your internet traffic to certain server, if yes, then uninstall it.

11. Is my PC is secure from your network ?

Remove "NetBEUI" protocol from the settings. Keep only TCP/IP protocol settings in your system. "NetBEUI" protocol is responsible for hard disk sharing on network if you removes it then this problem can be eliminated. We don't recommend to allow sharing on your PC's. If something goes wrong that will be your responsibility only.

12. I have my own LAN in my office. Can my machine be on Cable4Net network and also on my LAN ?

Yes, Put a hub at your place, we will, give you cable upto the hub and you can connect both the PC to the same hub. But Remember if you have taken net connection for only one machine than your internet access will be restricted to that PC only, coz we don't allow proxying to any of our cable4net account, while your other LAN job will work smoothly.

16. If I have your service at one place & if I want to change the office and require the connection over there than at that time what will be the charge ?

Yes, the same connection charges will be applicable for the connection at the other place. The connection charges are for the centralized and localized cabling and other active and passive equipments cost. It also covers the maintenance for the first year, of cables and other equipments.

17. Can I use a single connection at two places, like if my office is at Gumanpura and I live in Vigyan Nagar ?

If it is a hourly package, yes , you can use them. In hourly packages we have a facility of multiple logins. But in unlimited package it is a single user login package and a person can use it only from one place and one pc. The package would be restricted for that pc only. But this is also if provided that you have taken our cable connectivity at both the places.

18. What is the download speed ?

Download speed depends on lot of factors like:

• The configuration of the server from which it is downloaded.
  
• The configuration of the computer to which it is downloaded.
  
• The number of hits at that particular moment, the server is catering. i.e the load on the server when the request from the client for download is sent to the server.
  
• Total traffic on the internet at that particular moment when the request is sent for download.
  
• The path which the data packets take for downloading.
  
• The number of hops which the data packets have to take to travel to reach the destination i.e. the computer which has requested the download.
  
• Line conditions at the ISP's end.
  
• Available bandwidth at the ISP's end.
  

Usually in a MAN network the download speed would be between 4 kbps to 8 kbps at peak hours and at non peak hours it can be double than the above.

19. Why are the charges are so high ? Can you reduce the connection cost because we already have a modem?

In 'MAN' connectivity you do not require the modem at all. You can keep the modem in case of emergency. Our charges are not at all high. The only difference is that in our case you pay upfront so u feel that the charges are high while in dial up your charges are divided between internet charges and telephone line charges so you do not feel the cost. If you actually compare price and performance you will get very good value for your money. In fact you are getting better performance at charges even less then dial up. Also, we give much better services & more security. Being an ISP we have our own skilled technical team for your support.
